Calypso Telescope Operators
Manual: Avoid Light Pollution
Light Pollution
In order to avoid corruption of both Calypso
data and the data of other telescopes on the mountiain it is
important to control all extraneous sources of light. If you do not,
you might get a nasty call from the WIYN telescope.
- Make sure that all window shades in the
control building and the electronics room are closed before dark.
If you need to have a shade open, make sure all white lights are
extinguished.
- You may use the outside red lights when you
are walking between buildings. The lights on the stairs should
only be used while you are on the stairs. Turn off the stair
lights as soon as you are off the stairs.
- Keep all building doors closed and
latched.
